Dr. Sanchez, who travelled extensively throughout Southeast Asia and the North American continent, was a native Guamanian, the son of an outstanding Guamanian educator, and himself a former President of the College of Guam as well as a former Commissioner of Education in the Virgin Islands. At the time of publication he was serving as Associate Director of the Peace Corps in the Philippines.
